The DeKalb American Legion Post 66 joined the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce (DeKalb, IL) in January (2021) and hosted the Chamber for a ‘Ribbon Cutting’ welcoming the American Legion to the Chamber. The Legion joined the Chamber as part of a strategic plan to support and network with local organizations to increase the visibility of the mission statement of the Legion in supporting the community and civic events which reflects the goals of DeKalb American Legion Post 66.

To welcome the Legion into the membership of the DeKalb Chamber, the Chamber had a Ribbon Cutting on Wednesday, February 17th in front of the DeKalb Post 66 home.

For more than 85 years, the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce has worked together with our members to provide support and assistance to help the area’s business climate.

The mission of the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce is to serve and advance the business interests of the Greater DeKalb Region. ​We are strategic, responsive, and collaborative. Driven by the interests of our members, the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce continues to expand and evolve to meet the needs through providing a wide variety of opportunities to assist our members to grow their business and contribute to the economic stability of the community.

The DeKalb American Legion Post 66 is one the largest and most active Veteran’s organizations in DeKalb County, Illinois.  The Legion is about Veterans helping Veterans. The Post began in 1920-21, and they continue serving the community in a variety of civic events, current Veterans, and their families to have a better standard of life.

From the Chamber: Matt Duffy (Dir.), Anna Coats (Membership Chair), Ambassador Tia Anderson (Heartland Bank), Ambassador Mike Baars (Insurance man), Ambassador Cindy-Green Deutsch (Social Chair for the Chamber Ambassadors-Banker), and other Ambassadors  (4 or 5).
